The Bean Gallery
One of those “only locals know” spots, the Bean Gallery is a Mid City neighborhood coffee shop conveniently located on the main street of Carrolton. It has a spacious front deck shaded by oak trees and ample seating inside. Once a house, this now converted coffee shop feels you’re your favorite neighbor’s home. The Bean Gallery is also great for any caffeine addicts or long study sessions, as it closes at 12am.
Rue de la Course
The Rue de la Course building was built in the late 1920’s. It initially served as different banks over the years until 1990, when it became the fantastic coffee shop it is today. The Rue de la Course has high ceilings, a chandelier, and huge arches windows, and the architecture is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.
Sacred Grinds Coffee House
This coffee house hands down has one the coolest locations of any coffee shop in Nola. Its backyard is one of the famous Cities of the Dead (above ground cemeteries). The only thing separating the graves from the back patio is a chain link fence! If that’s not what you want to see first thing in the morning, sit out front and watch the street cars go up and down Canal Street.
Good Karma Café
This café lives under a yoga studio, which is suiting for its menu offerings. The Good Karma Cafe serves vegan, gluten-free, and plant-based plats, and all foods are organic. They even grow some of their own ingredients!
Satsuma
This locally owned coffee shop has three prime locations on Dauphine St., Maple St., and Magazine St. Their mission is to sell healthy, fresh-pressed juices and made-from- scratch dishes free of preservatives/additives. The inside is decorated with locally made art and channels a laid-back vibe.
Treme Coffee House
This bright orange, blue, and yellow building reflects the liveliness and colorfulness of Treme. Their beans are roasted from Orleans Coffee Exchange and they sell snowballs – it doesn’t get more Nola than that! Visit this historic New Orleans neighborhood and grab coffee.
Café Beignet
Come eat New Orleans famous beignets on Café Beignet’s outdoor patio! Live music is often playing. The bistro stays true to the city’s French roots by brewing both coffee and chicory beans, which were introduced by the French. They have three different locations in the French Quarter so be sure to stop by on your next visit!
HEY! Café and Coffee Roastery
Coffee lovers will really appreciate this café as they roast their own coffee in house! The staff makes their own unique coffee with beans from all over the world. They have gotten the whole process down to a science to make the best and most delicious coffee.
Solo Espresso
This coffee shop is located in the Bywater, a popular neighborhood in Nola. They use roasters from all over the country to serve, and on Fridays they offer a “guest roaster”. The interior is lined with wood accompanied by rustic, earthy décor. Many locals come here for a morning cup of coffee, so make sure you do too!
French Truck Coffee
You can always find a French Truck by this shop’s bright yellow exterior calling you to come on in and get a NOLA iced coffee. Not bitter and not too sweet either, this drink is perfect for those hot humid days – days we have no shortage of here in New Orleans!.
